The Child-Up multimedia archive, developed for the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, interactively delivers the content of the project of the same name which aims to improve the social integration of migrant children in Europe, promoting inclusion and active participation at school, intercultural education and the facilitation of dialogue in educational contexts.
The platform - implemented in 8 languages and accessible via registration - offers the stimulating opportunity of learning a second language and allows users to explore a rich array of resources using navigation tools centred on storytelling modules, timelines and interactive maps. In addition, the solution includes a special thesaurus on the topics of the project to make searching and using the educational materials easier and more effective.
The technologies used for this web-based solution include modules from the Moodle learning platform, the personalised metaCMS application and the open source MOVIO software, a Content Management System for online virtual exhibitions and storytelling paths.
