The “Memoria” portal is a platform dedicated to the management and consultation of archive materials related to case files connected with the terrorist attacks of the “Years of Lead” and the Mafia massacres. Using the metaFAD software, the system simultaneously manages the separate archives belonging to the network and, in the publication environment, provides an intuitive interactive map for location-based event searches and functions for the integrated indexing of the content of the entire archive under management.
The PEB (Portal Entity Builder) module enables an advanced conceptual and semantic description of the application domain, through an ontology that enriches the catalogue of searchable sources with contextual details and thematic relationships between record contents, place and person names, events, digitised documentary resources and descriptive texts.

This portal is committed to preserving the historical memory of one of Italy's darkest periods in the 20th century and to providing research and consultation tools which - by mapping significant relationships between the contents of the documents - make access to the historical data more efficient and relevant in terms of the retrieval of information.
