Jesolo: inauguration of the new ITS Academy Turismo Veneto Campus

On 14 April 2025, the new ITS Academy Turismo Veneto Campus was inaugurated in Jesolo, a state-of-the-art facility for post-diploma training in the tourism sector, during the annual event Tourism Innovation – From digital to experience: the future of tourism and training. Already a partner with GruppoMeta in the creation of immersive laboratories for all ITS Academy Turismo Veneto locations, ETT oversaw the technological development of the experiential laboratories, contributing to the creation of immersive and digital environments that integrate technologies such as virtual reality and artificial intelligence.

Among these, the Multimedia Showroom, an immersive journey to discover the technological laboratories, is a concrete example of the application of Extended Reality to teaching. The space allows students to enhance experiential learning in tourism by simulating real situations in three multimedia environments—from reception to the management of tourist experiences—through interactive content and immersive solutions such as virtual reality headsets and interactive videos.

The ETT and GruppoMeta teams are also developing a Metaverse entirely dedicated to teaching in the tourism sector: a system of immersive virtual environments, designed around key themes in tourism management and hospitality, where students and teachers can interact and simultaneously experience realistic scenarios and operational simulations, even from different locations.

As part of the same project, the Digital Marketing 4.0 Laboratory provides innovative tools based on Artificial Intelligence for the communication of tourist destinations. Divided into three sections — Big Data Analysis Laboratory, Neuromarketing Laboratory and Generative Artificial Intelligence Laboratory — it allows students to acquire skills for the dynamic design of tourism offerings, based on predictive data analysis, experimentation and personalisation of the user experience.

The project was financed with over €4.8 million from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, as part of the NextGenerationEU programme. A significant portion of these funds was allocated to the creation of digital environments and immersive laboratories, with the aim of enhancing the educational offering and strengthening the link between schools, businesses and innovation.

Thanks to the technological equipment of the new laboratories, the Campus is a benchmark for higher education in tourism, combining digital tools, immersive methodologies and a laboratory approach to train professionals ready to face the challenges of the sector.
